Have you been wondering if your youngster has a calling to be a violin virtuoso or a trumpet player in the marching band? Creativity is not limited to the visual arts in the ArtFest Fort Myers Publix Art Yard. The Southwest Florida Youth Symphony will be on hand, again this year, with their Petting Zoo, where getting bit by the music bug is your only worry.
Interested individuals will be able to talk with volunteers, explore the instruments and discover what they may have never been able to before in learning about instruments. They will be able to meet the instruments of the orchestra up close and personal.
The Instrument Zoo is a traveling interactive display that provides a hands-on experience for young students or adults. The program is an excellent introduction to instrument families and the role they play in the orchestra.
The Team will be performing as well as having the crowd participate in a "jump-along" sure to be a great hit with the youngsters! Their performances are going to be at 12:45p.m. & 1:45p.m on Saturday. Artfest Fort Myers will be providing the speed jump ropes to use so there is no excuse not to join the FUN!
The all-new Arts Academy at Edison State College is coming to ArtFest Fort Myers with art activities for adults ready to explore their artistic side. Arts Academy instructors will be conducting on-going, interactive demonstrations throughout the day both Saturday and Sunday. Come make your own artistic creation to take home.

Art Under 20 is a visual art exhibit and competition for Lee County high school students. Over 180 talented young artists from 15 schools exhibit 350+ pieces of artwork.
Students compete for $6,000 in cash awards and summer classes at Ringling School of Art & Design. Awards are given to the best student artists in five categories: Drawing, Painting, Photography, 3-D and Mixed Media.
