The 2010 Commemorative Poster artist, Russell Yerkes, has been painting since he first experienced finger paints and how much fun it was. He has developed his own unique style of painting which visualizes what we see when we are diving or snorkeling with a mask. we only see fish swimming from side to side, intermingling colors and patterns.
Currently living in Tarboro, NC Russell was the 2005 Best of Show at ArtFest Fort Myers and wins awards wherever his travels take him.
100% of the proceeds fund Newspaper in Education, the literacy outreach program of The News-Press.
ArtFest Fort Myers is the largest provider of newspapers to NIE.
