The City of Fort Myers created the Fort Myers Redevelopment Agency (FMRA) to manage the City's fourteen redevelopment districts. Currently, the City Council, along with the Mayor, serves as the Community Redevelopment Agency Board with oversight of the FMRA. The FMRA produced the art festival that evolved to become ArtFest Fort Myers. The strong support both financially and advisory from the City of Fort Myers and the FMRA continues to be reflected today.
